And so it begins. . .
This spring seems to be full of beginnings for the Tjarks family. Matt has now started his job in Florida and from all reports seems to be liking things so far. We hope to be sending visitors his way in the next few months.
Kalen now has her official acceptance from University of Illinois for the Master of Library Science program which she will start with a 10-day on-campus program in July. Then she will be very busy with online classes full time, a part time job, and a boyfriend.
Kathy is the newest college graduate in the family, graduating cum laude from Illinois State on May 10 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Next step for her is to pass her APT test (I think that's right) and find a teaching position. Anyone know of any preschool or kindergarten through 3rd grade positions looking for an eager teacher?
Ryan is taking the summer off from school and planning to put in more hours at the movie theatre. Then possibly another change in direction for school, possibly getting a mathematics degree from COD. He's still deciding what he wants to be when he grows up. I hope he doesn't become his mother and finally decide on a career in his 40's!
Tim and I have now become Disney Vacation Club members! We love vacationing at Disneyworld, so decided to buy into Disney's version of a timeshare. The nice thing about this one is that we are not locked into a specific week each year. It's based on a number of points each year that we can spend, bank or borrow as we decide how we want to vacation at that time. So Mickey and I will become great pals.
So here's to beginnings! We'll see what else lies ahead for this year. Things are starting to look up.
