San Francisco, here we come!
Tim woke me up too early this morning to fly to San Francisco. So I slept in the car on the way to the airport. Got through security without any major problems (Tim forgot and had a small screwdriver in his carry-on, but they just checked it and let him through). Boarded the plane on time, took off at 10:30 a.m. Landed approximately 12:15 p.m. California time (2:15 in Illinois). Tried calling Kathy's phone, but she must have been in class and I knew Kalen would be in class.
Picked up the rental car and drove to the Super 8 in San Bruno. Went to a nearby shopping mall, got lunch and purchased a small, somewhat cheap digital camera because Tim didn't want to bring the largish digital/video camera for this trip. One of us will put up some pictures later. Took the train to San Francisco, hopped a cable car and walked around Fisherman's Wharf for a while. Got free samples at Ghiradelli's (YUM!), walked out on a pier and got to see the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz, and the Oakland Bay bridge.
Tomorrow. . .Alcatraz tour and Giants game!

This definitely wasn't what I was expecting when you said vacation. Hope you're having fun.
